Ian McPherson Malcolm, 80, of Keller Texas, passed away April 14th, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to Agnes and William Malcolm on February 28, 1943. He grew up in Glasgow with his brother Gordan, playing soccer and as a teenager he had a part-time delivery laundry service with his best friend Hugh. In 1964 he was a youth fellowship leader where he met Barbara Lindsay Kirk. They were married in Cumbernauld Parish in 1968. In 1971 Ian and Barbara welcomed their first baby girl, Helen Elizabeth and 13 months later Judith Lindsay arrived. In 1984, Ian accepted an amazing opportunity to work in America as a Sales Executor at Westbound in the microelectronics. The family moved from Essex England to Orange County, California. He eventually went on to open his own business “South West Sales until he retired.
He was a devoted father and grandfather and had a wonderful sense of humor. He always had everyone laughing. He was a committed runner, and ran 40 marathons including: Los Angeles, Boston, Hawaii, Ireland, London and along with many more. Ian has many friends including all of the runners he ran with throughout the years. He loved to swim in the ocean, and enjoyed going to pubs to drink his favorite beer, Guinness. He loved his dogs with all his heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; Children, Helen Elizabeth Kemp of Keller TX, Judith Lindsay Aguillard and Husband Kyle Aguillard of Keller TX; Brother: Gordan Malcolm and wife Carol Malcolm. Grandchildren: Dylan Kemp and wife Charissa, Logan Aguillard, Blake Kemp and Lindsay Aguillard and partner Dylan Duhon; Great Grandchildren: Bryson Kemp, Braylee Kemp, Dakota Duhon, and Brenleigh Kemp.
A celebration of life for Ian will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Pkwy, Keller, TX.
