To sum up Debbie’s life in only a few paragraphs is an impossible task – her luminescence that inspired the people around her was so profound that words are insufficient - but much of her life continues to radiate through so many memories of her. Debra Thistlethwaite was born to Richard and Lois Thistlethwaite in Little Rock, Arkansas on the bright and sunny day of July 8th, 1968. The middle child, she was a shining light between her siblings, Alan and Amy. She was always drawn to travel and precipitated her meeting her husband, Thomas Ransom, in 1991 while working at the Little Rock airport.
He met her on a business trip and was regaled with how dangerous she was around a pool table. Intrigued, he challenged her to a pool game, to which she responded to bring his checkbook because she doubted he had enough cash on him. It was three weeks later on March 30th of that year that she came to visit him in San Francisco to take him up on the challenge. The romance was palpable, and they married on June 29th, 1991. Once married, Debbie and Tom continued to travel, living in several states, including California, Texas, Georgia, and Colorado where they shared many meals with friends and loved ones, a favorite pastime for both; especially in recent years with her extended family in Texas - Mark and Kiersten Adney, their children Joseph, Justin, and Meghan, Elisha and Tony Martin, and their children Candice and Jared.
Debbie was a sun worshipper, loving nothing more than traveling to a warm and luxurious locale to bask in the rays. She loved the beach and they would visit many different exotic destinations. Her favorites were Ixtapa and the Caribbean, and would regularly lounge on the sand as the sun set over the ocean. She also loved cruising and would bask in the sun on the deck.
Debbie and Tom stayed married for the rest of her life – over 32 years of companionship and love. Debbie is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Lois, and brother Alan, and is survived by her sister Amy Wooldridge, sons Tony and Jeff, and grandchildren Lilia, Sullivan, Ben, and Annice. Like the sun she adored, the rays of her life continue to light and warm all of those she touched. Now she shines down from above, a glimmer of guidance and love that any can look to and bask in her memory as she smiles down from Heaven. A celebration of life will be held at the end of June in California, with her extended family and friends.
