Colton James Henderson, 25, of Fort Worth, passed away on June 6th, 2023. He was born to James Edward and Mary Jo Henderson of Bedford, Texas at HEB Hospital on December 2nd, 1997. Colton successfully completed his Eagle Project and received the rank of Eagle Scout from the Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America on December 15, 2015. On May 28th, 2016, he graduated with honors from Fossil Ridge High School. Colton began his pursuit of his dream career in video game design and development in Richardson at the University of Texas at Dallas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science on December 25th, 2021, and was excited to begin his first job in his chosen career. Colton loved to travel and camp with his many friends and family. He enjoyed learning about different cultures and meeting new people. He especially loved France and was fluent in French. He was a selfless and fun-loving person who was kind to everyone. He enjoyed giving back to the community through the Boy Scouts of America Troop 332 and raising donations for the JDRF for Type 1 Diabetes. In addition, he volunteered to foster many dogs for Take Me Home Pet Rescue in Richardson, to help displaced dogs find their forever homes. Colton was an avid fan of Pink, Sci-Fi, Comic Con, Doctor Who, The 100 and anything technology.
Colton is preceded in death by his father James Edward Henderson. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Henderson, and his beloved siblings Tiffany York (Thuong Bui), Clint (Jennifer) York (Rutherfordton, N.C.), and Cody Henderson. He also leaves behind his paternal grandmother Carole Kempton and Aunt Vicki Bailey (Phoenix, A.Z.), maternal Uncle Mike Heflin (Vale, N.C.), Cousins Alan, Dan, Shelly, and Bryson, nieces and nephews Noah, Jayden, Mayson, and Ava.
He will be missed by his family and friends whom he deeply loved. Colton will be remembered for his altruism, loyalty, and generosity; he is irreplaceable.
