I had the pleasure of flying with Chris for several years out of New York's LaGuardia Airport for Delta Air Lines, and can honestly say that Chris was probably the most intelligent, conscientious, and knowledgeable first officer I had  ever flown with. Chris often talked about family and was also very knowledgeable about current events and political issues- giving us a lot in common. Also, if you commented on something, or debated Chris, you better have your facts straight, or you would be "schooled" as the facts poured out of Chris' mouth-which of course was to my great delight! I saw Chris not that many years ago before retiring, and of course this news saddens me deeply, so fair winds and clear skies my old friend until we meet again...

I am so sorry to hear this.  I flew several trips with Chris from the 727 to the 767-400.  We had some memorable layovers.  NYC two weeks before the 9/11 attacks and Great Falls, Montana at the Sip & Dip.   Chris was a great guy and one of the smartest people I knew.  He will be missed!  Praying for your family.

Bei, I’m in shock.  Was planning to check in this week to hear about surgery.  Mostly I’m thinking of you and the kids.  Can’t imagine what you are dealing with.  Chris was a fast friend when you lived in College Station.  We flew many trips together on the 767-400 and had coffee at every niche shop in London.  I will miss him greatly.  For someone so darn smart he could always explain things at a level even a navy pilot could comprehend.  We went through captain school at the same time last year and Chris told me that he had written his own training program for the 320.  I had to laugh as I was struggling with learning the Airbus.  Only Chris could do something like this.

This has made me profoundly sad.  I always enjoyed my flights with Chris at Delta where he would try to expand my limited mind with discussions on physics, the cosmos and more.  I will miss those conversations and seeing his smiling face wandering the pilot lounge in New York.  My deepest condolences to all of you.

Chris and I were in the same Delta new hire class and we were also paired together for training as 727 Flight Engineers.  Chris was a great sim partner and made some challenging aircraft training a lot more enjoyable.  We stayed in touch throughout our Delta careers. I will miss seeing him in the pilot lounge and our occasional flying discussions.

I served with Chris "CB" in VS-21 in the mid 90s. I remember him as a great pilot and officer, a friend, and someone who nearly always had a smile on his face and something good to say.  I am saddened to hear of his passing.  I will remember the good times like the pool picture at the hotel in Thailand.  Chris is in top row, 4 in from the right.

I was truly saddened to hear about the passing of uncle Chris! He was a good, person, kind & sincere. I remember how he made  everyone laugh, especially his 2 nieces & nephew, who miss him so much! My heart goes out to the family. Hoping you find some comfort & peace.

He was always so kind to everyone around him and appreciated  , thanked all who were   included in his care . He will be deeply missed on this earth but will be felt in the heart for years to come .
