He is survived by his son Matthew Allen Miller and his wife, Tiffaney Baley-Miller, his sister Teresa Miller Newman and grandson, Ethan Ryan Miller, along with other extended family and many, many friends.
Charles was a man of many talents. If it could be made – he could make it. He was a 3rd generation Sheet Metal worker and a life-long member of the Sheet Metal Local 68 Union. He briefly owned a landscaping company, and this is where he passed on his love of a perfectly manicured lawn to his son, Matthew, as they worked most weekends together.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many camping trips with his children. He ran twice in the Cowtown Marathon 10k to support Matthew when he wanted to do it. Lots of bike rides and hiking trips and most recently twice daily runs to the park for a walk in the sunshine with his treasured dog, Ellie Mae. She was to Charles a soulmate of sorts, a best friend and cherished companion. He had many cookouts in his backyard, where friends were encouraged to pitch a tent and sleep over. During the last days of his time on earth, his time outdoors was precious to him. It meant the world to him to be in the sunshine and have so many friends come by to check on him.
Charles, his father and his son, Philip took many fishing trips together. No doubt the fellowship was great, but often – the boat came back to shore without a single fish. Whatever fish they missed were happily replaced with stories and smiles as the time together was most important.
He was a good friend to many. A mentor in his trade. An excellent father who passed on his passions to both of his sons. He considered his grandson, Ethan, the best teammate he ever had.
He was a follower of Christ, and his family takes great comfort in that fact. He was welcomed into heaven by his son, Philip Miller as well as his parents, Charles Sr, and Barbara Miller. It must have been the most joyful of reunions.
