Carol was born in Curtis, Nebraska to Charles and Lucille Brandt on July 13, 1943. She graduated from Bridgeport High School before attending school to become an LVN. She moved to Muleshoe, Texas where she met and married her husband Leon Warren on July 23, 1976. Carol worked as an LVN until her granddaughter was born and then became a full time "Granny". She was an avid reader and loved to take trips to the local library. She also loved to garden and surrounded her home with beautiful flowering plants.
Leon Warren, 84, passed away surrounded by family on January 7, 2020.
Leon was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Floyd and Sylvia Warren on September 26, 1935. He grew up working on a farm in the panhandle of Texas. He began his career with the Green Butane Company before moving to Western 66 where he worked for 45 years. He fully retired from Dale Oil Company at the age of 80. Leon loved to work and when he wasn't working as a propane delivery truck driver, he was working in his own personal mechanic shop in the backyard. He rebuilt and restored antique trucks, cars, tractors, and even an occasional toy. Leon was always willing to lend a hand and could always be counted on to help with anything you needed.
Leon and Carol were married for 43 years until Carol's passing at the end of December. He quickly followed her 18 days later on January 7th. They had many ups and downs throughout their marriage, but they always made sure their home was a safe welcoming environment for their family. They had many adventures together over the years, including trips to the casino, swap meets, and anywhere else they thought might be fun to see.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Brandt and brother, Ed Brandt.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheri and husband Manuel Garcia; son, Scott Ellard and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Taylor Murphy and Clomer Bankston, Darbi and husband David Seitler, Andrew Walter, Katie Ellard, Dylon Ellard and Connor Beard; great-grandson, Declan Seitler; sisters, Lenore Hutchinson and Marlene and husband Gene Hazen; and brother, Doug Brandt and wife Nancy; sister-in-law, Kathy Brandt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Sylvia Warren; siblings, Floy Fonville, Dorthy Faye Neal, J R Warren, Barbara Warren and Leta Albright; and son, Mark Warren.
He is survived by his children, Kaye Smith and husband Scott Smith, Lon Dale Warren and Brad Warren and wife Misty Warren; step-children, Sheri Garcia and husband Manuel and Scott Ellard and wife Lisa; nine grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Taylor, Darbi, Andrew, Katie, Dylon and Connor; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Maye Evins, Alice May and husband Harold, Shirley Fisher and husband Jan; brother-in-law, Bill Fonville; as well as many other extended family and friends.
Memorial Service to celebrate their lives will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Keller's Old Town Funeral Home, 220 Keller Parkway, Keller, Texas 76248.
