Betty Lewis, 93, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went to Heaven on Wednesday, the 4th of January surrounded by loved ones. Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Herb Lewis, daughter Lorna and husband Chuck, three grandchildren: Hannah (and husband Ryan), Chad (and wife Krystina), and Cale (and wife Brooke), and eight great-grandchildren: Nolan, Everett, Anna Kate, Madeline, Cohen, Casen, Harper, and Chandler. Betty retired from her position as an elementary school librarian in 1989. Upon retirement, she and Herb traveled the world with friends - - including China, Canada, and all throughout Europe. They frequently visited their grandchildren in the Texas Hill Country, before relocating from Pasadena to Kerrville in 1993. Betty and Herb attended every game, recital, and school event throughout their grandchildren’s upbringing. Once her daughter, son-in-law, and grown grandchildren moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Betty and Herb once again relocated to be near their family in 2013. Betty loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. She treasured reading - - books, devotionals, and especially the Bible. She read through the Bible cover to cover at age 92. She enjoyed playing the piano, painting, and sewing.
Betty Jo Lewis lived and led a wonderful life.
