Tyler G. Gammans, 30, of Spofford, NH, left this world and the love of his family and friends on Friday, October 6, 2017. He was born in Keene, NH on October 14, 1986; the son of Gary and Renée Gammans.
Tyler graduated from Keene High School, Class of 2005. During high school he attended Clown School, and then went on to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. He attended Keene State College, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Theatrical Studies with a minor in Psychology, graduating Cum Laude. He was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Later, he attended Keene Beauty Academy, where he received his Cosmetology license, and then found a home as a hairstylist for Enright & Company in Brattleboro, VT. The owners and staff at Enright & Company were Tyler’s second family. Larry, one of the owners, was a mentor to him. He had also worked at Super Cuts, as an Outreach Specialist in Maine, a Field Manager for the Fund for Public Interest in Chicago, and as a Direct Support Professional for Chesco, Inc. Additionally, he worked in parent-youth mediations at Monadnock Family Services in Keene. Everywhere he worked, he made lasting friendships.
His love of performing found him assuming several lead roles in dramatic and musical productions at Keene State College and in the region. While at college, he was a founding member of the KSC’s Theater and Dance Honor Society (Alpha Psi Omega), and twice received the Irene Ryan nomination for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Awards.
Tyler was the embodiment of Life, itself: the lightbulb in the room, the one who -- without even thinking about it -- lent a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He loved people from all walks of life and was a passionate champion of diversity. If anyone rocked, it was Tyler; his life was a lead role. In addition to his love of theater, he enjoyed skiing, vacationing at the Outer Banks of North Carolina with his family and friends, fishing, children, and anything at all having to do with hotdogs…..he was there. And most of all, he loved shopping with his mom at the mall.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Richard Record, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Janice and Douglas Ebert and an uncle, Richard Record, Jr.
In addition to his parents, Tyler is survived by a brother, Colin Gammans of Spofford, NH; paternal grandparents, Peter and Ellen Gammans of Keene; three aunts, Katherine Bartnicki and her husband Robert of Virginia Beach, Tammie Record of Winchester; and Laura Johnston and her husband Alan of NH; two uncles, Carl Gammans of MA and Robert Dadura of Keene; cousins, Jared Record and his wife Lindsey of MA, Kristen and Jenna Record both of Winchester, Robert E.
