He was born March 2nd, 1965 in Michigan, the son of Sue (Keith) Messick and Alfred Carter. He moved to the Monadnock area at a young age where he attended Winchester Elementary and Monadnock Regional High School.
On June 28th, 1986 he married the love of his life, Michelle Arlen.
Scott was self-employed as a painter and was well known as being a jack-of-all-trades. He was strong with a caring and loving nature. Enjoying time on the golf course and panning for gold, he was an avid poker player who loved music and enjoyed life with the company of his loved ones. He was a proud man and family was the center of his life. His contagious laughter and smile lit up any room he entered.
Scott will be greatly missed by his wife of 31 years: Michelle Carter of Winchester, NH; three sons: Scott Carter II and his wife Kendra of Swanzey, NH, Josh Carter and his wife Glenda of Williamstown, MA, and Justin Carter of Keene, NH; three grandchildren: Dylan, Anthony, and Ivelys; mother: Sue Messick and her partner Vicki Messick of Knightstown, IN; grandmother: Anita Dick of Richmond, NH; sister: Laurie Perkins of Hinsdale, NH; sisters: Melissa, Bev, Angie and brother George all of Linn, MO; mother-in-law: Bea Hammond and her husband Romie of Keene, NH; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his father Alfred Carter and brothers Ronnie Carter and Les Carter.
Family and friends are invited to call at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH, on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11:00 am.
