He was born in Newark, NJ, August 13, 1941, the son of Robert H. and Dorothy M. (Brown) Dell.
Bob was raised in North Arlington, NJ. As a teenager and young man, he enjoyed family vacations in Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod, where he enjoyed scuba diving. He was a graduate of North Arlington High School. Following high school, he moved to Cambridge, Mass. where he worked at Harvard University in the biology department working with electron microscopes.
In the 1970’s, Bob move to Westmoreland. He was a truck driver for Provisions International in White River Junction, VT for over 20 years, delivering gourmet foods.
Bob enjoyed good food, wildlife, working on his property, and spending time with his beloved beagle, Kurt. Above all else, Bob is remembered as a kind soul who was always willing to help out others in need. His endless generosity was his most abundant quality. He will be deeply missed, and his acts of kindness never forgotten.
He is survived by his sister, Martha J. Dell of Arlington, NJ, his children, John Cloutier of Swanzey, NH and Debbie Cloutier of Westmoreland, grandchildren, Stormy LaRoche and her husband, Eric, Tyson Jache, and Rainna Sonderegeer, as well as many other people whose lives have been touched by Bob’s kindness and generosity. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Diana L. Handy, on April 27, 2007.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, and share their memories of Bob with the family. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:30AM in the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, New Jersey. Burial will follow in the East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton, NJ.
