Richard E. Cote, 64, of Winchester, NH died on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH following a period of declining health. He was born in Plainfield, CT on August 19, 1951; the son of the late Homer and Maude (Parker) Cote.
Richard was one of nine children, having three sisters and five brothers. On April 26, 1996, Richard married Lenora May Ware in Wallingford, CT. The two had known each other since they were teens, and reconnected frequently throughout their lives. They were married 18 years before her passing.
Before relocating to Winchester, NH in 2003, Mr. Cote worked for Madison Polymeric Engineering in CT for almost a decade. Prior to that, he traveled the Atlantic seacoast extensively as a game operator for Frank 'Brooklyn' and Josie Pelland from age 16 until his mid forties. He loved engaging with the public and challenging them to feats of skill. He ran the dart board, ring toss, and basketball hoops. His smile was warm and genuine, his laugh was contagious, and he could get a whole crowd roaring along with him in no time.
He is predeceased by his parents and other siblings.
He is survived by two sons, Richard E. Cote, Jr. and Jacobus Cote; the mother of his granddaughter, Ashleigh O'Brien Izzabell; a stepdaughter, Laurel Rigoulot; and a brother, Raymond Cote and his wife Charlene.
There will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Monadnock Humane Society would be gratefully appreciated. The FLETCHER FUNERAL HOME, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
