He was born in Keene, November 12, 1964, the son of Raymond G. and Marilyn (Drugg) Woods and has resided in this region, other than his tour of duty with the military; for most of his life.
Skip graduated from Monadnock Regional High School, class of 1983, and went into the US Navy where he served for twenty years. He was employed by the United States Air Force as a technician at the New Boston Satelite Tracking Station in New Boston where he had been employed for several years.
He was a communicant at the Immaculate Conception Church in Troy, and a member of the Gordon Bissell Post American Legion in Keene, the National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting Club. He was in Scouting up to and including becoming an Eagle Scout.
Skip enjoyed hunting, cooking, building model boats, camping and woodworking.
Survivors include his parents of Troy, two sisters: Debbe Stone and her husband Gary of Draper Utah and Pat Starkey of Troy; a niece Brandee Rae Parker of Jaffrey; a nephew G. J. Stone of Utah and a godchild Gage Parker of Jaffrey. He was also survived by his good friend and cousin Tim Wilson, and cousin Doug LaPointe among many other cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, September 26th, at 11 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception Church in Troy. Friends are invited. There are no public calling hours. Burial with full military honors will be held at the family lot in the Mountain View Cemetery in Troy.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made in memory of Raymond Woods to Attn: Advance Guard Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
