He was born on Sept 20, 1930 in South Lyndeborough, NH to William Dicey and Christine (Carkin) Dicey. He was a US veteran serving in the Air Force.
He worked for Sprague and Carlton furniture in Keene where he made the knives that cut the designs in wood. He went on to be in charge of Troy NH recycling center until his retirement. He loved to tinker in his workshop repairing and continued to make wood cutting knifes for other business.
Raymond was a member of the Odd Fellows of Troy for many years and member of Trinitarian Congregational Church. He was very proud to be a volunteer Fire Fighter in the Troy Fire Department where he was Deputy Fire Chief for several years.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia (Chase) Dicey. Four children: Raymond Winston Dicey, Jr. and his wife Mary of Sebastian FL. James Earl Dicey and his wife Patricia of Troy NH. Barbara (Dicey) Benoit of Keene NH. Richard John Dicey and his wife Meagan of Troy, NH. He was a loving grandfather to 16 grandchildren (including his namesake grandson
Raymond Winston Dicey III) and many great grandchildren (including his namesake great grandson Raymond Winston Dicey IV). He is survived by his brother Douglas Dicey and sister Beverly Perry along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by sister Virginia Moore and brothers Gordon Dicey and Clyde Dicey.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Trinitarian Congregational Church, 11 South Main Street in Troy NH. The family will greet friends on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene NH. A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Raymond W. Dicey Sr.’s name to a charity of your choice.
