Peter was born on December 28, 1957 in Keene, NH the son of Charles and Ellen (Hayward) Roentsch. He was a graduate of Keene High School and later went on to graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Franklin Pierce University. He grew up in a very close family, and was especially close with his grandparents Elmer and Mary Clair Roentsch. Peter was taught the values of friendship and unconditional love from an early age.
For many years Peter worked for Timken and later Vermont Bread. He was a hard working man and wholly devoted to providing for his family. He was also a loving father, grandfather and friend. Spending time with those he cared about most brought him great joy. Peter’s quick-wit and great sense of humor was appreciated by everyone who knew him. He was always one to crack a joke at just the right time. Peter enjoyed spending time at the lake doing various activities such as boating, playing card games, or observing the natural beauty of the landscape. He loved all animals - especially dogs - which brought him great companionship and happiness. He spent a lot of time with his own two Yellow Labradors, Chief and Wesley. Peter was a big sports fan and enjoyed cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots.
Peter is survived by daughters Alison Roentsch of Manchester, NH and Jennifer Roentsch and her fiancé William Flanders of Monmouth, ME; his loving companion Patricia Frawley, daughter Hannah Mercier, and granddaughter Annessa Jennings of Gilsum, NH; his first wife and mother of his children, Amelia Fletcher of Walpole, NH; his half-sister Heidi Sprague of Gilsum, NH; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
