Doug was born on July 5, 1948 in Sellersville, PA to the late Ruth and Norman Myers of Blooming Glen, Bucks County, PA. He graduated from Pennridge High School in Perkasie, PA.
After high school, Doug moved to Vermont and worked at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, in Burlington for several years. He then moved to Keene, NH and worked at Hilson Home Center as the store manager for many years. Doug then worked as the assistant store manager at AutoZone until his retirement.
Doug enjoyed many adventures with his long-time partner, Julie Greenwood, of Keene. Together they travelled to wildlife art museums, took the Cog Railway to the peak of Mount Washington, and spent time together taking many wildlife viewing hikes. At home, he enjoyed tending their flower gardens and loved to BBQ year-round.
Doug’s passion was being outdoors hunting, fishing and hiking. He especially enjoyed pheasant & deer hunting in the fall and would travel to VT and PA for hunts. He also enjoyed travelling to the ocean to eat great seafood with Julie and charter fish off the Isles of Shoals from Rye, NH.
Doug will be deeply missed by his devoted partner: Julie Greenwood of Keene, NH; brothers: Lowell and Steve Myers, both of Blooming Glen, PA; and special sons: Scott Myers of Bozeman, MT and Adam Myers of Winchester, NH; as well as many friends.
There will be no public services held.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Doug’s memory to Wings of the Dawn Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, P.O. Box 53, Henniker, NH 03242.
