Norman was born in Keene, NH, January 14, 1941, the son of Lloyd Glover and Vivian (Howe) Glover. Active in sports and the outdoors his entire life, he was a member of Brattelboro Vermont’s first little league team, and went on to play football for Brattleboro High School where he graduated in 1959. His other interests included hunting, fishing, skiing, and ski jumping. Later, of course, he was an avid golfer.
Another of his unique hobbies was flying remote control airplanes with the Abanaki Flyers. He built five airplanes and one sea plane. Norman was also known for his talented woodworking craft. He built furniture, remodeled two homes, built two homes, and helped his friend build a log cabin home.
He was employed for over 47 years at Kingsbury Machine Tool Corporation in Keene, first as a service technician traveling all over the U.S., Canada, Korea, France, and Ireland. He quickly moved through the ranks, as Assistant Service Manager, and finally Service Manager, where he spent the majority of his career.
As a golf enthusiast, he was an active member of Pine Grove Country Club in Spofford. He also enjoyed membership with the Keene Elks, exploring golf courses in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
Norman is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Helen (Sanville) Glover; two sons, Mark and his wife, Connie, of Charlottesville, VA, and Wayne and his wife, Janet, of Jacksonville, FL; daughter-in-law, Laura Glover, of Walpole, NH; five grandchildren; three sisters, Sheila Glover, of Houston, TX, Theresa Sargent, of Keene, Susan Harrison and her husband, Dan, of Marlborough, NH, and their families; a multitude of nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families; and many friends and former coworkers. He was predeceased by his son Steven and his mother and father.
He leaves us all with many memories, his passion for life, and his sense of humor.
