Her parents, Raymond and Marion (Palmer) Penny welcomed their daughter into the world on August 24, 1930 in Richmond, NH.
She resided in Brattleboro, VT and Ashuelot, NH, before moving to Winchester in 1964.
Mary worked for thirty-eight years with the National Grange Mutual Insurance Company in Keene and in nursing care at the Brattleboro Retreat in Brattleboro, VT. She enjoyed tracing her ancestry and traveling.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Ronald Rice and his wife, Maxine of Hinsdale, NH, Mark Rice of Winchester; five grandchildren; and a brother, David Penny of Wasilla, Alaska. Her husband, Charles O. Rice, predeceased her.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Evergreen Cemetery, Forest Lake Road, Winchester. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
