Mary Catherine Beauregard 94, a longtime resident of George Street, Keene, NH, died peacefully, Thursday, March 19, 2015, with her family at her side, at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Keene.
She was born in Jersey City, NJ, January 30, 1921, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Douglas) Brock.
She grew up in Jersey City and was a graduate of Snyder High School in Jersey City. Following graduation, she worked at the Western Electric in Kearney, NJ.
On April 18, 1945, in St. Paul’s Church in Jersey City, she married Bernard V. Beauregard of Keene, whom she met while he was serving in Army. They shared 45 happy years of marriage before his death in April, 1990.
Mrs. Beauregard treasured her life of raising her family and caring for her home and her husband. Family was everything to her. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She also enjoyed vacations and holidays with her extended family in New Jersey who were also very important to her. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene.
The family is very thankful to Hospice for their support, especially Aylene, Jen and Peggy.
She is survived by her two daughters, Regina Perham and her husband, Paul, and Donna Johnson and her husband, Arthur, all of Keene; four grandchildren, Michelle Schneiderman and her husband, Jason, of Manchester, NH, Julie Shaffer and her husband, Erik, of Keene, Jennifer Johnson and her boyfriend, Jared Bobbin, of Keene, Ryan Johnson and his girlfriend, Alexandra Marella, of Keene; three great-granddaughters, Hannah Schneiderman and McKenna Schneiderman, both of Manchester, Marin Shaffer of Keene; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard V. Beauregard, Sr.; a son, Bernard V. Beauregard, Jr. in March of 2002; sister, Regina Volpi and brother-in-law, Victor Volpi; brother, Bernard Brock, and sister-in-law, Gloria Brock; brothers, Sylvester Brock and Thomas Brock and sister-in-law, Lillian Brock; and two nephews, Thomas Brock, Jr. and Robert Brock.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 25th at 11:00AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Beauregard’s memory to the St. Joseph Regional School, 92 Wilson Street, Keene, NH 03431.
