Marjorie B. Boufford

She was born August 3, 1917 in Keene, the daughter of Daniel and Ethel (Gorges) Hapward. She attended Keene schools and married the love of her life, Francis L. Boufford, also of Keene, in 1935.

She was a homemaker and later worked at Goodnow’s Department Store for many years. Family was her passion: as a Mom, grandma , great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling to camp at the 1st Ct. Lake with family and friends.

She and Fran retired to their new home in N. Carolina for 14 years. They returned to the family home in Surry for the next 15 years. For the final years of her life she settled into the community of Keene Center Genesis in Keene, where she was able to build special relationships with both staff and other folks living there.

She is survived by two daughters: Nancy Proctor and her husband James of Surry and Patricia Mason of Hilton, NY, five grandchildren: Jeffrey Proctor (Diane), Denise Greene (Thurlow), Deanne Duncan Conant (Craig), Tim Mason (Michelle) and Paul Mason (Christina), great-grandchildren: Cory Proctor(Ashley), Nicole Guetti(Thomas), Lucas, Hailey and Kelly Duncan, Lillian Concant, Chelsea and Benjamin Greene, Christopher, Emma, Jack, Elijah and Isabella Mason, her great-great-grandson: Tyler and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is also survived by many close friends, including Pamela Amer and James Duncan. She is predeceased by her husband, her brother: Malcolm Hapward and her son-in-law: Donald Mason.

Services will be held in the Spring and will be announced as the time comes closer.
