Marion Dolores Sargent, age 82, passed away on November 6, 2024, at Monadnock Community Hospital with family at her side. She was born on June 1, 1942 in Leominster, Mass to Joseph Henry and Lillian (Guinard) Senecal. Marion married Ronald E. Sargent, Jr on February 25, 1967.
Marion's greatest joy was being a wife, mother and Meme. She and Ron enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and line dancing. She took great pride in watching her daughter, Kim, and grandchildren Samantha and Frankie grow and supported their games and activities. She had many dogs as pets, and loved her special girl, Bitsy. She loved hosting get-togethers at their house and playing games with friends.
Marion had many hobbies and passions in life. Her love of books and reading led her to a career as a Library Assistant at the Gay-Kimball library in Troy, NH. She received her Certificate of Library Sciences and enjoyed being the children's librarian. Inheriting her green thumb from her father, she loved to grow vegetables and decorate her yard with flowers. Marion loved to camp, whether it be Beach Week, travels around New England with family and friends, or holiday weekends at her sister's house.
She leaves behind her husband, Ron, of Fitzwilliam, her daughter, Kim (Frank) Tomer, her grandchildren, Samantha and Frankie of Swanzey. She also survived by her sisters, Sheila (Sonny) DeVarney and Cindy (Bill) Ninomiya of Leominster, Ma, her brothers-in-law, Dan (Debbie) and Jeff (Sally) Sargent, and her sisters-in-law, Tracy (Rick) Ferreira and Cindy (Tim) Rader. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Bobby, Dan, Steve, Mike, Laurie, Derek, Jackie, Scott, Dawn, and Brittany. She also leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, her siblings Shirley, Judy and Donnie, her niece Sharon and her nephew-in-law Donald.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 21st from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fletcher Funeral Home, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, NH. A service will take place at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA on Friday, November 22nd at 11:00 am. A celebration of Marion’s life will follow from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Cathedral of the Pines, 10 Hale Hill Road, Rindge, NH.
