He was born on March 13, 1998, in Seattle, WA, to Robert and Jamie (Moskowitz) Shigley. Raised in Argyle, TX, Lucas attended local schools and graduated from Argyle High School. He was an accomplished athlete with a particular passion for basketball. In the off-season, he also enjoyed playing football and baseball, embracing each sport with dedication and enthusiasm.
Lucas’s greatest passion was his family. Whether sharing moments in person or connecting from hundreds of miles away, he deeply valued time with his parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, and extended family. He found joy in playing video games and spending time remotely with his loved ones. Lucas adored all family pets but shared a special bond with his beloved cat, Arya.
He will be fondly remembered for his kind and loving nature, his inquisitive mind, deep reflections on the world around him, his remarkable sense of humor, and his extraordinary ability to recall details with perfect clarity.
Lucas is survived by his parents, Robert and Jamie Shigley of Keene, NH; his loving siblings, Phoebe Shigley of Somerville, MA, and Jack Shigley of Denton, TX; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who cherished him deeply.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ruth and Richard Moskowitz, and his paternal grandparents, Lois and Jerry Shigley.
At this time, Lucas will be celebrated in a private, intimate gathering. A celebration of Lucas’s life will be announced at a later date.
