She was born in Keene, May 16, 1993, the daughter of Ronald A. and Colleen A. (Gove) Hopkinson, and has resided here all of her life.
Kelsey was a senior at Keene High School and was preparing for her upcoming prom and graduation. Following graduation, she had plans of attending Hesser College in Manchester to study early childhood education.
During her short life, it was abundantly clear that she truly loved kids. She did volunteer work at Cedarcrest in Keene, and studied early childhood education at the Cheshire Career Centers Pre School. She liked to bowl, read books, Jane Eyre was a favorite, but also read current titles such as Harry Potter. Like any teen, she enjoyed listening to music and being on the computer chatting, Facebooking and just spending time with her friends. She was also a big NASCAR fan, frequently attending the races in Loudon, and loudly cheering her favorite driver of the Number 4 REDBULL car, Kasey Kahne, whom she had chance to meet on many occasions.
She loved her two cats, Bandit and Lilly, they will miss her. She was the beloved Miss Blueberry Eyes to her entire family.
She is survived by: her parents, Ronald A. and Colleen A. Hopkinson of Keene; her maternal grandparents ('Mimi ' and ' Papa ') Stanley Gove, Sr. and his wife Elaine of Estero FL., her paternal grandfather, Linwood Hopkinson of Wolfeboro; her aunts and uncles: Julie ( ' Nani ' ) Hensley and her husband Bob of Keene, Stanley Gove Jr. and his wife Lisa of East Hampstead, NH, and Thomas Hopkinson of Pinardville, NH; and her cousins: Bob Hensley and Catie Hensley of Keene, Dan Gove of East Hampstead, and Jason Hopkinson of Pinardville.
She is predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Ruth Hopkinson.
A Celebration of Kelsey's Life, will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Monadnock Covenant Church, at the corner of Base Hill Road and Route 9 in Keene. All are invited. Calling Hours will be held at the church Thursday evening from 4 to 7.
Burial will follow at the family lot in Monadnock View Cemetery in West Keene. Memorial donations may be made in Kelsey Hopkins’s name to the Cedarcrest Center for Children with Disabilities, 91 Maple Avenue, Keene, NH 03431 or online at www.cedarcrest4kids.org
