She was born in New York, New York, September 16, 1934, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Caso) Acquaro and had graduated from High School in 1952. She lived in New York until1995 when she and her husband retired to Florida.
She married Julio Caruso on October 23, 1955, in E. Elmhurst, NY. They enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage before his death in February of 2005.
Mrs. Caruso was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of the home, inside and out. She found a certain joy in time spent with her children and later her grandchildren; they were the apples of her eye. Mrs. Caruso would do nearly anything for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons: Dr. Don Caruso and his wife Nancy Johnson of Roxbury, NH, Robert Caruso and his wife Debra of Farmingville, NY and Kevin Caruso of N. Babylon, NY; two brothers: George Acquaro of FL and Joseph Acquaro of SC; a God Daughter: Lori Masi of NY and seven grandchildren: Danielle Caruso, Evan Caruso, Tyler Caruso, Chris Caruso, Anthony Caruso, Nicolas Caruso, and Alexandra Caruso. She is predeceased by her husband, Julio; her sister, Margaret Masi; her brother, Ralph Acquaro and her daughter in law, Lora Caruso.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Church of the Good Shepherd, Holbrook, NY. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2:00 until 4:00 and from 6:00 until 8:00 at the O.B. Davis Funeral Home, 4839 Nesconset Hghwy, Port Jefferson Station, Long Island, NY. Burial will follow the Mass in the family lot at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY. Family and friends are invited.
