He was born in Keene on October 8, 1939 to Harry L. Patnode Sr. and Ina (Hakala) Patnode. He grew up in and attended Marlborough schools, becoming a lifelong resident of Marlborough.
He and his wife Gail F. (Boucher) have been together for over 55 years.
Mr. Patnode made working with his hands a lifes work, working at various garages, such as Fraziers Garage in Marlborough, as well as for Holbrook Grocers, Wetterau Foods and SuperValue as a Fleet Mechanic.
He belonged to the Trucking Teamsters Union #633. He enjoyed most outdoor activities, whether snowmobiling, four wheeling, camping or logging. He and Gail traveled various areas around the US.
He is survived by his mother: Ina Patnode of Marlborough, his wife: Gail Patnode of Marlborough, his sons: Joseph M Patnode, Jr. and his wife Tammie of Swanzey and Brian L Patnode and his partner Jayne Alexander of Nelson; his daughter Dayle Greene and her fiancé Randall Turner of Swanzey; four grandchildren: Ashlee Patnode and Shane Patnode of Swanzey and Craig Greene and Nicole Greene of Swanzey; a sister: Diane Patnode of Marlborough and two brothers: Harry L. Patnode Jr. and his wife Dorothy of Marlborough and Richard Patnode and his wife Patricia of Marlborough as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his father Harry L. Patnode, Sr. and a brother Leland Patnode, Sr.
There will no public calling hours. Private family services will be held at a later date.
