He was born in Greenfield, MA on April 12, 1935 the son of Wilfred P. and Mildred (Miller) Fleury.
He grew up in Greenfield, MA and was graduate of Greenfield High School. Following high school, he served with the US Army and later attended junior college where he received an Associate’s Degree in Business.
Jack started out selling cars and later went on to own his own heavy construction equipment sales company which he operated for more than forty years. He was very proud of his family.
Jack’s perfect day as of late was a long car ride with his wife Dottie by his side, a big cigar, going straight to Doug’s Dogs first, then maybe to Walpole for ice cream, Athens for pizza, Jim and Eddie’s for dinner then home hoping for a New England Patriot’s, Celtics, Red Sox, or Bruins game to be on. Jack loved Saturday mornings, driving playing Polka music in a “Caddy” with a big cigar again, talking smack, always.
Jack leaves behind his wife, Dottie Wickes; two sons; John P. Fleury, Jr. of Maine and Jim Fleury of Keene, NH; two granddaughters; Katie Fleury Hansel of Keene, NH and Amanda Sweet of Weare, NH. He was predeceased by his two former wives; Brenda Zabko and Janet Laliberte.
“Cadillac Jack” lived every day until he died. Always did it his way. Balanced his sugar and sodium with ice cream and hot dogs. Jack always said, “I’m going to start my diet and quit smoking tomorrow”.
Every person that works at the Cheshire Medical Center treated Jack professionally, and with dignity and respect. Thank you to the entire EMS facility.
Private services will be held at a later date. There are no public visiting hours.
For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St., Keene is assisting the family with these arrangements.
