Her parents, Walter and Lottie (Howard) Whitten, proudly welcomed their daughter into the world on November 24, 1932 in Gilsum, NH.
Jean worked for 29 years in the quality department as a Photometry Analyst with GTE Sylvania in Hillsborough, NH. When not working, she enjoyed going to yard sales, and she was an expert shopper. Jean was also an accomplished yodeler. She enjoyed listening to country music, and also enjoyed square dancing, especially given the fact she met her future husband, Lewis, at a square dance.
Family meant the world to Jean, and she loved camping with her husband in Wells, Maine. She cherished her many years creating special memories camping with family and friends. It was said that Jean could find a 4-leaf clover in a matter of seconds, and would sing the song “I’m Looking Over, A Four-Leaf Clover” whenever she discovered one.
Jean will be greatly missed by many, especially her husband of 67 years, Lewis A. Clark of Stoddard, her children, Dennis Clark, Sr. and his wife, Carol, of Stoddard, Bonita Sarcione and her husband, Joseph, of Stoddard, Kenneth Clark and his wife, Caren, of Marlow, NH, Jo Ann Vaillancourt and her husband, David, of Stoddard; her grandchildren, Helen Wheeler, Dennis Clark, Jr., Jennifer Clark, Michelle Clark, Tabitha Kilchewski, Cassie Michaud, Brian Murray; twelve great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Philip Whitten and his wife, Jane, of Stoddard; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Shannon Sarcione, and a sister, Janice Mooney.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 1:00PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Dow Hill Cemetery, School Street, Stoddard. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the funeral home.
