She was born February 14, 1944, in Nashua, NH., the daughter of Edward V. and Grace E. (Farley) Comerford. She was a 1962 graduate of Walpole High School. For twenty five years Janet worked at the Marlborough Elementary School as the Secretary.
To know Janet was to know what true compassion meant. Her life was a testament of the love she had for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Janet had a very special connection with nature: one that led her to become a caregiver to animals who were injured or at risk of being harmed, though her work with the Winchester Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, in Winchester, NH. Janet had many beloved pets, including: rabbits, cats, chickens, koi fish and many wild critters. In all, Janet was a caring person who gave love freely with only the expectation that she might touch the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter: Elizabeth C. Townsend and her husband Nathan of Jaffrey, NH, her son: Richard H. Kenney and his wife Kimberly of Newport News, VA., four grandchildren: Sarah and Ryan Kenney of Virginia and Evelyn and Isaac Townsend of New Hampshire, three sisters: Susan Kosmo of Westmoreland, NH, Sally Magraw of Milford, NH and Nancy Krochmal and her husband John of Westmoreland, NH, two brothers: Edward “Pete” Comerford, Jr. and his wife Mary Jane of Keene, NH and Richard Comerford and his wife Sharon of Keene, NH, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her former husband: Harry E. Kenney, III., of Marlborough, NH.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 8, 2012, at Janet’s home at 61 Rule Street, Keene, NH at 2:00pm
