She was born, in Keene, on April 2, 1934, the daughter of Marshall and Ethel (Whippie) Wagar, and was a member of the Keene High School Class of 1952. She was a graduate of Fisher Junior College in Boston, and later went on to attend Northeastern, where she also worked. She lived in Boston for several years before meeting her future husband and eventually moving back to Marlborough in 1966.
She married Edward O. Gaseau, in a ceremony at the United Church of Christ in Keene, on July 24, 1966.
She retired, as Executive Assistant to the CEO, from the Markem Corporation after 20+ years of employment, in 2002.
She and her family were long time members of the United Church of Christ. She was the epitome of a hostess, and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at gatherings. She loved to cook and bake. She was an avid reader and enjoyed time outside in her gardens. She was also very active behind the scenes at the United Church of Christ, serving in several volunteer roles there.
She is survived by her daughters: Michelle Gaseau and her husband Joseph Sara of Watertown, MA and Lesley Pellerin and her husband Christopher of Greenland, NH; her stepson: Stephen Gaseau and his wife Mary of Flagstaff, AZ; her 5 grandchildren: Rubén Sara, Ramón Sara, Eva Pellerin, David Gaseau, Daniel Gaseau; a sister: Gayl Plummer and her husband Floyd of Bow, NH as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the United Church of Christ, 23 Central SQ, in Keene, on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. There will be no public calling hours.
