Jane Ellen Kenny Wamser

She was born June 1, 1959, in Bronx, New York, the daughter of Eugene and Jane (Powers) Kenny. She was a 1977 graduate of Bethel High School in Bethel, CT. At the age of seventeen, she met the love of her life, Christopher Wamser, and the two were married on June 19, 1982.

Jane loved to be with her family, whether they were traveling or doing outdoor sports. She enjoyed skiing, biking, and hiking. Through her fitness instruction at Lady of America, where she was known as G.I. Jane, she inspired many women to be healthy and lead active lifestyles. She also enjoyed her work as a Real Estate Appraiser with Powers Smith Appraisers in Keene. She loved to travel to any destination where there was a warm sandy beach. Her travel took her to Germany, Italy, Mexico, Aruba, New Zealand, and many more beautiful locations.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Christopher Wamser of Chesterfield, NH, her daughter: Kathleen J. Wamser of Chesterfield, NH, her son: Shawn C. Wamser of Chesterfield, NH., four brothers: James Kenny and his wife Tricia of Sebastian, FL., Thomas Kenny and his wife Tammy of Danbury, CT., Paul Kenny and his partner Judith of Kissimmee, FL and Brian Kenny and his wife Natalie of Danbury, CT., her mother and father-in-law: John and Lorraine Wamser of Pawley’s Island, SC., three brother-in-laws: Gary Wamser and his wife Donna of Woodbury, CT., Wayne Wamser and his wife Karen of Brookfield, CT. and Raymond Wamser and his wife Debbie of Fairfield, CT., and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Kevin Kenny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Bernard Church on Main Street in Keene, New Hampshire. Family and friends are invited to call between 5 and 8pm on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street Keene, NH. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, 8th floor, New York, NY 10022.
