Imelda's story starts on February 10, 1934, she was born to Joseph and Madeleine (LeBlanc) Cormier in Notre-Dame, Canada. She went on to live in Moncton, Montreal and Caissie Cape, Canada; as well as Gardner, MA and West Palm Beach, FL.
Imelda had many occupations in her lifetime, a receptionist, seamstress, nursing home aide and home health care aide. For over 25 years, Imelda made a yearly trip with her longtime companion and soulmate, Leo Robichaud. They traveled between Gardner, MA, Caissie Cape, Canada, West Palm Beach, FL and everywhere in between. Imelda touched the hearts, minds and souls of everyone that was lucky enough to have known her. She was charismatic, compassionate, fun, generous, kind, loving and thoughtful. Imelda loved flowers, greenery and picking rhubarb with her nieces and nephews in her backyard. She loved to cook and loved to eat sweets even more. But most of all, she loved to sit down and share a meal with a loved one. When Imelda was young, she sang and played guitar in a band in Montreal. She loved old country music and loved to dance (Hee Haw!). Imelda loved people, she was a talented storyteller and trickster, she always kept her audience captivated, especially children. She has left behind many notebooks filled with her music, stories and tricks, which goes to show her passion for entertaining and creating everlasting bonds. Imelda, You Are Loved, Missed and Will Always Be Cherished...
Loved ones that welcomed Imelda home to heaven are her father Joseph Cormier, mother Madeleine (LeBlanc) Cormier, brother Joseph Yvon Cormier, brother Oris Cormier, nephew Norman Cormier and longtime companion and soulmate Leo Robichaud.
