She was born in West Hatfield, MA, June 1, 1920, the daughter of Felix and Mary (Yankowski) Korza. She grew up in West Hatfield, moving to Winchester in 1942.
Mrs. Tacy retired from the Peerless Insurance Company in Keene, NH where she was a supervisor for many years.
She was a past member of the Winchester Senior Center and the Catholic Society, and a charter member of the Winchester VFW Post 3968 Auxiliary.
Mrs. Tacy was a proof reader for many years with the former Winchester Star newspaper. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, a good card game, and summer vacations at various lakes throughout New Hampshire.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Tacy of Eliot, ME; a son, Rick Tacy of Winchester; a sister, Marie Malinoski of Leeds, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis L. “Pete” Tacy; three sisters, Gertrude Woysnis, Nellie Korza and Anne Romance; and two brothers, Walter Korza and Roger Korza.
A memorial mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 9:30AM in St. Stanislaus Church, Richmond Road, Winchester. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond Road, Winchester.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in Mrs. Tacy’s memory to the Resident Activity Fund at the Genesis Applewood Rehabilitation Center, 8 Snow Road, Winchester, NH 03470.
The Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH is assisting the family with the arrangements.
