Harriette M. Moore

She was born in Winchester, NH on July 17, 1929, the daughter of Muriel Moore.

Miss Moore was a 1947 graduate of Keene High School. Following high school she attended art school, and she was well-known in the area for her water colors.

She worked for 33 years as a telephone and switchboard operator with New England Telephone Company. While working as a telephone operator, she was instrumental in helping to save someone’s life. She was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene. She had a special place in her heart for all of her collie dogs.

She is survived by her cousins, Edith Plummer of South Braintree, Mass., Patricia Long of Columbia, CA, Louise Couture of Sanford, Maine, Thomas Moore of Lempster, NH, Daniel Moore of Dexter, Maine, Marie Shaughnessy of Garibaldi, Oregon, Kevin Moore of San Jose, CA, Judy Landry of Claremont, NH, Margaret Shaw of Danbury, NH; many second and third cousins; and her beloved sheltie, Danny.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, August 20, 2011 at 10:30 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church, 33 Arch Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Richmond Road, Winchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.

The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Miss Moore’s memory to the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center Activity Department, 298 Main Street, Keene, NH 03431.
