Geraldine M. Huse

She was born on March 1, 1934, in Rockville Center, NY, the daughter of Frederic and Myrtle (Shea) Brandes. She grew up in Freeport, NY and graduated from high school there.

In 1956, she married Lloyd Huse on Long Island.

In her younger years, Geraldine was a secretary at the Hughes Hubbard Law Firm in New York City where she would commute by train daily. She loved the city life and visited New York for many years after moving to New Hampshire.

In 1965, she, and her family, moved to Chesterfield, where they lived for the next 27 years. During that time, she worked for Peerless Insurance, until she retired. After retirement, she moved to Florida and then Concord, NH, where she lived out the rest of her life.

Geraldine will be remembered for her love of cooking and willingness to always provide a meal for family and friends. She also enjoyed planting and arranging flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to her family members and a great friend to many people she met during her life.

She is survived by her daughters Holly Huse, and significant other Denny Searles, of Walpole and Tracey Sweet, and husband Scott, of Concord; grandchildren Brandes Sweet and Trevor Sweet and several nieces and nephews. Her sister Jacqueline Bahr died earlier.

Services for Geraldine will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014, 2:00 PM at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 532 Rt. 63, Chesterfield, NH. Pastor Scott Masters will officiate. Calling hours will be held the evening before, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH. (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com)
