He was born November 20, 1941 in Concord, NH the son of William Cressy and Murial Ashby (Reddington). He grew up in Danby, Vermont on the family farm. After graduating from High School in 1959 he went on to proudly serve our Nation as a member of the United States Navy.
Fred's passion was cooking and he was an excellent Chef. For many years he served as the Head Chef at the Keene Country Club and then later worked for various Eldercare Facilities in the Monadnock Region, including the Woodward Home.
For over thirty years he had shared his life with his partner: Ken. The two of them enjoyed traveling to Florida and also shared a passion for antiquing. They would visit antique shops and shows all the way down the East Coast.
Fred also loved old cars, especially Cadillac's. For several years he worked for Fairfield's in Keene and was the top salesman. He loved to go for road trips, and was always happy to ride with the top down.
Fred was also an avid animal lover and enjoyed the companionship that he shared with the various dogs that were a part of his home throughout the years.
Fred is survived by his daughter: Kelly Roberts and her companion Jay of Gorham, ME, his son: Jeffery Cressy of Keene, NH, four grandchildren: Stephanie, Joseph and his wife Amanda, Ryan and Zachary Roberts, his partner: Kenneth Woodbury of Keene, his sister: Marion Barnard of Bellows Falls, VT, several nieces, nephews and extended family members, including: Dennis Barnard, Linda Hansen, Tracy Barnard Terri Kavanaugh, Lisa Northup and Andrew Bosworth. He is predeceased by his siblings: Robert, William, Clifton and Esther.
A Celebration of Fred's Life will be held at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St. Keene, NH on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 6 to 8pm.
