Ernest B. Descoteaux, Sr. 92, a lifelong resident of Keene, NH, died Monday, August 8, 2016, with his family at his side at the Westwood Care and Rehabilitation Center, Main Street, Keene, following a long illness.
He was born in Keene, NH on March 27, 1924, the son of Benjamin and Rosanna (Metivier) Descoteaux.
Ernest was a Navy veteran serving during World War II.
Following his military obligations, he was a licensed plumber with the former Rivers and Henry Company in Keene, and then until his retirement, he worked with Pinney Plumbing and Heating in North Swanzey.
He was a longtime member and past treasurer with the Keene Licensed Plumbers Association. He enjoyed watching television and reading the newspaper. His favorite pastime was that of time spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all brought him such great joy.
He will be greatly missed by his three children, Ernest B. Descoteaux, Jr. and his wife, Lynda, of Alstead, NH, Bruce Descoteaux and his wife, Nancy, of Swanzey, NH, Nancy Ann Perkins and her husband, Michael, of Stoddard, NH; eight grandchildren, Tracy Kaletsky and her husband, Lou, Maggie Lloyd and her husband, Jeff, Michael Descoteaux and his wife, Anafe, Cory Descoteaux, Jessica Eberhardt, Shane Branch, Michael Perkins, Kashena Perkins; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was predeceased in 2000, by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Ruth (Holbrook) Descoteaux; eight brothers and five sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 1:30PM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Burial will be private.
