Elsie Descoteaux

Mrs. Descoteaux was born on April 13, 1946 in Keene, the daughter of Casper and Helen (Gebo) Dratwa. She grew up in the area and was a graduate of Keene High School.

She had been employed at Maplewood Nursing Home and Cedarcrest as a nurse for many years.

She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family as well as sightseeing and the beach.

She is survived by her son: Richard E. Descoteaux, Jr., and Christi, of Buford, GA; three daughters: Karen J. Descoteaux of Centralia, IL, Susan A. Andrews, and Joseph of Nelson NH and Angela L. Descoteaux of Wellington, England; a brother: Michael Dratwa, and wife Nancy, of Charleston, SC; a sister: Cindy Rioux, and husband Bill, of Pittsburgh, NH; and eight grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard E. Descoteaux, Sr. in July 2008, her father Casper Dratwa in April 2001 and her mother, Helen (Gebo) Dratwa, died earlier this week on Monday, August 19th, 2013.

A time of remembrance will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013, 1:00 PM at the Nelson Village Cemetery in Nelson, NH.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Descoteaux’s name to the Nelson Congregational Church, 830 Nelson Road, Nelson, NH 03457.
