

Elizabeth Luopa Williams, 93, a resident of Jaffrey, NH and former resident of Troy, NH, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Good Shepherd Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Jaffrey, NH, following a period of declining health.
She was born January 19, 1920, in Troy, NH, the daughter of Ludwig and Alexandra (Mantymaki) Luopa. She grew up in Troy and attended local schools. In 1942, she married the love of her life, Eino O. Williams. She and her husband were very active members of the Troy Lutheran Church.
Elizabeth was a very devoted wife and mother and took her responsibilities of homemaker very seriously and with great pride. She was an excellent cook and would often make a “Salmon Casserole” which is a Finnish tradition known as “Lohirullaohjeita”. She also enjoyed working outside in her flower garden, especially growing her roses. Elizabeth also enjoyed being around people, whether she was at the Senior Citizens Center in Troy or visiting with relatives.
She is survived by her son: James “Jim” E. Williams of Lee, NH and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Due to her long life she had out-lived all of her siblings, of which she was one of a number of them.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church, 4 Fitzwilliam Road, Troy, NH 03465, on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 2:30pm. Family and friends are invited to call on the family from 1:00pm to 2:30pm at the church. Burial will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery, Route 12, Troy, NH., and will be announced in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
