Elizabeth Murphy

She was born Elisabeth Teichgraeb on November 3, 1925 in Molochansk, Ukraine.

She married US Army Sgt. Joseph P. Murphy, III on October 9, 1947 in Schwabach Germany and came to the states in 1948. He passed in 1969 after a battle with cancer.

She was employed by the Peerless Insurance Company in Keene for over 25 years and continued as a consultant there, after retiring.

She was an excellent seamstress, and also loved gardening and bowling. She enjoyed traveling, and wintered in Daytona Beach Shores with her companion of over forty years Robert “Jake” Giard.

She moved to Rindge with her son and his wife, Tessie, from her longtime home in Keene after a period of failing health, then to Applewood as her health continued to worsen.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Joseph P. Murphy, IV and his wife, Tessie, of Rindge; four grandchildren, Kelli Murphy Bleau and her fiancé, Darren Marrazof, of Swanzey, NH, Krysten Murphy Avery and her husband, Terry, of Surry, NH, Christopher Kendall, Andrew Kendall; and several great grandchildren, Trevor Bleau, Aubrey Avery and Brody Avery. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn Murphy Kendall.

A private service was held at Foley Funeral Home in Keene on January 15th.
