Elaine Wood Lombardi

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph C. Lombardi and her parents, Gordon Cutler Wood and Cecile Lamoureux Wood.

Elaine was born in Ware, MA and attended Regis College in Weston MA. She was retired from the Commonwealth of MA where she was employed for a number of years.

Elaine loved Marshfield and her home with Joe, artfully tending to her beautiful garden and the many flowers and shrubs which gave her joy. Elaine possessed an in depth knowledge of each and every species and shared her passion and knowledge with others.

There were many interests that Elaine enjoyed, such as environmental issues and had served as a member of the Conservation Committee in Marshfield. She and Joe enjoyed spending time each summer season sailing on their boat in around the New England coast and spending time on the Cape. Elaine was a loyal Patriots fan and never missed a game.

Elaine had a soft spot in her heart for animals, often viewing and guarding the small ones in her yard. Her beloved cat, Jenkins, provided comfort, love, and companionship to Elaine in her final years.

Elaine is survived by numerous cousins and friends whose memories of Elaine will be cherished forever.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anthony’s Church, 10 Summer St., Cohasset, on Friday September 21st at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to an Animal Rescue Group of choice.
