He was born in Keene, NH, June 6, 1953, son of the late Robert and Caroline Everett. He moved to Surry when he was six and attended Surry Elementary School, Monadnock Regional High School and Keene State College.
David started working when he was 13, riding his bike up to Pinnacle View Farm Equipment to do odd jobs for them. He worked at Kingsbury Corporation traveling to different locations to install machines. However, his passion was for woodworking, and he left Kingsbury and worked for Grashow Builders, eventually leaving there to start his own business becoming a master carpenter, cabinet and furniture maker. He also used his skills to build their post and beam house in Alstead starting with cutting down the trees, milling the logs, hand carving the joints and pegs and then assembling it.
David was always very devoted to his family. He met his wife, Jean P. (Rae) Everett, as a teenager when the families got together at Surry Damn and the Cheshire Fair. They fell in love and were married in August of 1978. They shared a love of cooking, and he was known for his grilling and smoked ham and turkey. They also enjoyed finding treasures at antique stores around the state. Their daughter, Laurie (Everett) Driscoll, was born January 2, 1985. He loved nature and land he lived on and shared that love of walking through the woods, swimming in the river and watching the wild animals with her. When Laurie became interested in soccer, he learned all about the sport, even becoming a referee. Laurie and her husband Scott blessed him with two granddaughters - Jordan and Avery Driscoll. He then shared the same joys and lessons he shared with his daughter with them. When covid hit he became their teacher and support. He attended their school activities and their soccer games and was always their biggest fan.
David is survived by his wife, Jean (Rae) Everett of Alstead, his daughter and son-in-law Laurie (Everett) and Scott Driscoll and their daughters Jordan and Avery Driscoll of Alstead, his two sisters and their spouses, Nancy (Everett) and Dave Callender of Surry and Gale (Everett) and Jim Steffy of Rhode Island, his brother and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Bill and Mary Rae, Paul and Lorranie Rae, the late Teresa (Rae) McParland and Dan McParland, Ann Marie (Rae) and Bill Lynch, Dan and Maryellen Rae, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
