She was born on March 12, 1961 to Maurice & Hilda Jones in Bellows Falls, VT. She attended Sarah Porter Elementary School in Langdon, Vilas Junior High School in Alstead and graduated from Fall Mountain High School in 1979. July 7, 1979 she married her high school sweetheart at Beth-el Bible Church in Surry, where they attended for many years. She worked at Cheshire Medical Center for 28 years in various positions and had to retire early in 2008 due to the progression of her MS diagnosis in 2004. She was the Surry Town Clerk from 1999 to 2023, where she remained as the deputy town clerk until present.
Darlene enjoyed many things in her life. She played basketball in junior high and softball in junior high and high school, as well as softball for Beth-el Bible Church. She was an active member of local granges for over 30 years. She enjoyed going to fairs with the family and their draft horses. Darlene and Gerry also spent a lot of time snowmobiling and motorcycle riding with family and friends. She also enjoyed going on the road with her husband when he drove truck for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as playing cards and games with family and friends. In her alone time she enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles, and doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Clark; and their children: Matthew Clark and his wife, Lynn and Stacey Seymour and her husband, Doug; ten grandchildren, four siblings and several nieces and nephews.
Darlene is predeceased by her parents, one brother and two nieces.
Services will be held at Beth-el Bible Church, 13 Village Road, Surry, NH, on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024. Visitation begins at 2 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:30 pm.
