He was born New Rochelle, New York, December 7, 1943, the son of Harry and Thelma (Christensen) Harris and has resided in Keene for most of his life.
Dan graduated from Brown University where he earned his Bachelors Degree. He recently retired after working twenty five years as an insurance agent with Allstate Insurance in his family agency.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Keene and has sung in the church choir for many years. His love of singing went beyond the church choir as he was also a member of the Keene Pops Choir and the Yankee Male Chorus. He was a former member of the Keene Lions Club and a member of the Brown University Alumni Association.
Survivors include: his two sons: Theodore C. Harris and his wife Lindsay of Surry and Andrew E. Harris of Keene, two sisters: Mary Lou Heyel of Danbury CT., and Linda Jane Werling of Wheaton, IL., and a beloved granddaughter, Charlotte S. Harris of Surry.
Calling hours for Dan will be held at the United Church of Christ, Wednesday September 12th from 11:30 to 1:00 pm, and will be followed by services at 1:00 pm. Friends are invited.
A reception will follow in the church parlor.
Dan requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Daniel C. Harris Memorial Music Scholarship Fund, c/o UCC 23 Central Square, Keene, NH. 03431.
