Her journeying began on May 23, 1954 in the southwest corner of Vermont. Her parents, Morton H. Howe and Marie (Farrington) Howe had settled on a special property sided by "The Big Brook", "The Little Brook" and "The Woods". Brenda and siblings Bernie, Scott and Holly had so much fun playing and exploring after, of course, doing all of their chores as can be assigned on wonderful country properties that have extensive lawns, gardens and many chickens.
After high school and learning sign language, Brenda traveled back and forth across the USA for two years, avoiding the "tourist-y" stuff to experience the country and its working people. Then, tired of her suitcase, she earned sign language interpreter certification and spent several years working first in a vocational high school (auto mechanics, plastics, machine shop, carpentry, culinary arts) and then at a university (calculus, biology, chemistry, engineering, computer science). She loved exploring in all of these fields and being able to learn so many things! Then, when her hands wore out, she got a BS in accounting followed by her CPA credential. Next began her journey into various industries (defense, retail, temp services, telecommunications) in different parts of the US. Eventually, tiring of the moving vans and the travel required by the increasing corporate responsibilities, she stopped and moved back to New England with the goal of living in one community for more than just a visit or a five-year job
rotation.
She leaves behind siblings Bernie Howe (Pam) of Browns Summit, NC, Scott Howe (Annie) of Williamsburg, VA and Holly Mitchell (David) of Camden, AR as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind special friends made at Grace Community Church.
Services will be announced shortly.
