She was born in Keene, October 13, 1940, the daughter of Fred J. and Ellen D. (Baker) Hook and had resided in Keene for many years prior to moving to West Swanzey in 1993.
Mrs. Hook graduated from Keene High School class of 1958, and at the time of her retirement had been employed at Concord Portex for thirteen years. In her earlier years, she had been employed as a certified nurses assistant at the Cheshire Medical Center for a number of years, starting in 1994.
She had done volunteer work at the Keene Community Kitchen as well as with Aids Services. She was an avid walker who loved nature and enjoyed riding bicycles. She got great joy out of being an Amtrak fan.
Survivors include: her sons: Timothy D. Sargent and his signifficant other Therese Hotchkiss of Sullivan, James E. Sargent and his signifficant other Kim Read of Swanzey and Leonid Filimonov of West Swanzey; her daughter Laurie A. Erney of Salt Lake City Utah, one brother David G. Hook and his wife Barbara of Keene, her grandson Anthony J. Sargent of Maine as well as several nieces nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date in the spring or summer. There are no public calling hours.
It has been requested that gifts be made in memory of Mrs Hook, to The Keene Community Kitchen, 37 Mechanic Street, Keene.
