His parents, Lucienne (Couette) and Alphonse D. Bergeron, Jr., welcomed their son into the world on June 14, 1947 in Lancaster, NH. Moving to Keene at the age of eight, Al attended local schools and was a graduate of Keene High School.
Al proudly served his country as a Navy veteran during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Gordon Bissell American Legion Keene Post #4 and the Vietnam Veterans.
He worked for 27 years as a sales representative with the Granite Group and F.W. Webb, both in Keene.
A man of deep faith, Al was a lifelong parishioner of St. Bernard Church in Keene, and assisted with collections at the weekly masses.
In his earlier years, Al was a member of the Greater Keene Area Men’s Softball Association, as both a player and a coach, for twenty-eight years. He also enjoyed candlepin bowling and hiking. His favorite pastime was "camping" in Wells, Maine.
An accomplished photographer, one could see many of nature’s beauty captured by Al, displayed at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene.
Al will be greatly missed by many, especially his wife, Jill (Henry) Bergeron of Keene; his children, Jodi Patnode and her husband, Lee, of Marlborough, NH, Sara Bergeron of Sunapee, NH and his step-son, Gordon Daniels and his wife, Nelia, of Keene; six grandchildren, Desiree Fisk, Derek Daniels, Allyson Daniels, Corey Jakway, Kevin Fontaine, Allyson Forest; three great-grandchildren, Hailey Fisk, Easton Fisk, Quinn Daniels; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hartwell of Dunedin, FL, Heidi Hernes of Milton, NY; his extended family members; and the love of his life, "Misha", his beloved poodle.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 11:30am in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial with committal prayers will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Family and friends are welcome to attend the mass and the committal for Al and are reminded to please wear facemasks and to maintain the physical distancing requirements.
