Randolph Richard Newhouser

Randy was born the son of Richard and Louise (Cuatro) Newhouser on January 16, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Henry Ford High School, class of 1965. Randy was a basketball standout, holding numerous records and titles excelling not only in playing, but later as a coach and mentor as well. After receiving several scholarship offers from other colleges he elected to attend Michigan State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Randy married Kathleen O’Sullivan in June 1990 in Hawaii. Randy operated his own business, Accurate Optical for many years before retiring due to his declining health. His latter years were spent attempting to find enjoyment in Detroit sports and engaging in friendly wagers and tournaments with his close friends and family. He fought and donated to advance progressive causes and made generous charitable contributions to many wildlife and nature preservation organizations.

Randy is survived by his son Theodore Newhouser and step-son Brad

(Stephanie) Reynolds; and sister Bonnie (Richard) Hayosh; as well as his Jackabee Lulu. He is predeceased by his wife Kathleen Newhouser

(2008) and his parents Richard and Louise (Cuatro) Newhouser.
