Chris was born on May 9, 1967, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He grew up in West Bloomfield, MI, the son of Nick and Mary (Adams) Suciu.
Chris graduated from Andover High School in Bloomfield Hills, MI, in 1985 and attended Ferris State University. He was married to Leslie Sylvain for ten years. Chris’s greatest joy was his children, Hannah and Alex. He loved being their father, taking great pride in watching them grow up, and enjoyed sharing holidays, sports events, family gatherings and endless jokes with them. An avid cook, Chris especially delighted in making his mother’s Romanian recipes. He loved watching sports games and movies, and
catching up with his friends. He was a warm, open person who quickly connected with new people. His big, deep laugh and twinkling eyes put everyone at ease. Those qualities helped him succeed in the restaurant management and sales fields. Chris walked through the world as a gentle giant, wearing his huge heart on his sleeve. He loved to help people whenever he could, offering a big hug, a homemade meal or a word of encouragement. When saying goodbye, he would often say, “Te iubesc foarte mult”, which means “I love you very much” in Romanian.
Chris is survived by his daughter Hannah Suciu and son Alex Suciu; father Nick Suciu Jr.; siblings Laura (David) Callen and Nick (Lisa) Suciu; niece Noa Callen; nephews Judah Callen and Adam Suciu. Chris is predeceased by his mother Mary Suciu.
