She is preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Barbara McGee; niece, Shannon McGee; nephews, Rodney Wright & Ronald Ray (Bo).
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, but most importantly she was devoted to Christ. After graduating high school she obtained her cosmetology license and worked in Plano, TX for many years. She later became a stay-at-home mom and truly enjoyed raising her children.
Linda loved gardening. She put flowerbeds everywhere: around the house, backyard and along the driveway. Even when her illness made it impossible for her to garden, she still enjoyed caring for the few plants she was able to. She also loved arts & crafts and taking monthly trips to First Monday Trade Days in Canton, TX.
Linda was a kind, gentle and loving person who always put others first. She was honest, thoughtful, exuded warmth and was always smiling. She will always be remembered.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Stephen Fortner; daughters, Jennifer Pilcher & husband Nathan, & Amy Williams; grandchildren Addison Williams & Pierce Pilcher; siblings, Charles McGee, Ray McGee & wife Janis, & Sandra McDonald & husband Ken; and numerous nieces & nephews to cherish her memory.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Kaufman Church of Christ in Kaufman, TX. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
