Victor (Vic) Tamborella, Sr., 92, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. He was born in Houston, July 1, 1922, where he lived his entire life until 2010 when he moved to Katy, TX. In 1942, he married the love of his life, his childhood sweetheart, Frances Palazzolo. Vic’s first marriage proposal to Frances was in a junior high school play, after which they were sweethearts forever. They both graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Houston. Vic and Frances were married for 66 years when she preceded him in death.
Vic proudly served in the Army Air Corp during WWII, stationed in England. After the war and his service, he worked for Bariod his entire career and retired as their Data Processing Manager. After family, his favorite pastimes were fishing, woodworking and watching sports. Vic was an avid card and pool player. These past several years he enjoyed his daily pool games with his buddies at the Solana at Cinco Ranch. He was quite the pool shark!
Vic is survived by his three loving children, Frank & Vic Tamborella and Marianne Zimmerman & husband, Bruce, seven grandchildren, Christi Baylor & husband, Bobby; Matt & Mike Malet; Mariah Tamborella; Noah, Ava & Lana Tamborella, one great-granddaughter, Avery Baylor.
The family especially wants to thank the wonderful employees of the Solana at Cinco Ranch for their kindness and friendship over the past several years. We also want to express our thanks to Rene at Vantage Hospice for her wonderful care and support.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, TX 77494. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 4:00 pm.
