Tyjondah was born on June 29, 1978 to Jasmine Cuffie and Aston James (deceased) in Brooklyn, New York, where she spent her formative years before moving to Texas with her family. She then moved to New York to attend the Manhattan Community College and then, went on to attend University of Buffalo.
Tyjondah is survived by her mother, Jasmine Cuffie; her siblings, Tyjani Ricketts, Tylisa Cuffy, Latoya James, Michael James Jeanine James, and Timshell James; Aunt Yolanda Mieres, Uncle Winston Mieres, her grandmother, Eileen Williams; and her niece, Solana Martin.
Tyjondah had a wonderfully curious spirit. She never stopped learning or searching for the answer to mysteries. She was a kind and loving person whose hobbies included all manner of things; from watching anime, reading books and knitting, to painting and playing video games. Tyjondah had such a vibrancy about her life that showed in everything that she did. Her favorite place was the beach, being out in the sun made her shine like no other. Her passion was swimming and the beach which was her most favorite place and a hobby dear to her heart. Being out in the sun made her smile and shine like no other time. Her light, love, and laughter will be forever missed by all.
